THANK YOU FOR JOINING US MARCH 12-15, 2026!! STAY TUNED HERE AND ON SOCIAL MEDIA FOR UPDATES ON THE 2026 PHILLY YARN CRAWL!

The Greater Philly Yarn Crawl is organized by the Local Yarn Shops in Greater Philadelphia and 2026 will be our 3rd Annual Philadelphia yarn crawl. SAVE THE DATE!! Registration is open for this fun, community-filled four-day event taking place March 12-15, 2026 across 17 shops. A yarn crawl is an organized event giving fiber craft enthusiasts the opportunity to visit the local yarn shops in the area. We are so very excited to make this an annual tradition for our Greater Philadelphia yarn community!! By supporting the Greater Philadelphia Yarn Crawl you are supporting 17 small businesses! If you are a local yarn shop (focused on selling supplies, equipment, and classes for crochet, knitting, weaving, or spinning) in Greater Philadelphia (Pennsylvania-only) and are interested in participating in future yarn crawls please feel free to reach out to the organizers at hi@phillyyarncrawl.com to see if your location is within our geographic focus.

HOW IT WORKS

Once you’re registered for the yarn crawl and join our email list, you can expect to hear from the crawl team leading up to the event with shop highlights, important information and updates, and more! Beginning Saturday, March 8th you can pick-up your printed materials at the shop you selected for Local Pick-up (alternatively, you may pick-up during the crawl). Once the crawl begins, you can visit as many shops as you’d like and have your passport stamped at each spot along the way.

GIVEAWAY PRIZES & FREE PATTERNS!!

More to come on specifics, but the prize structure will look something like it did last year, outlined below:

For folks that visit 4-17 shops, there will be instructions on your printed passport for how to digitally submit your completed passport to be considered for one of three giveaway prizes; thanks to the very generous donations of our yarn community vendors & makers.

  • Grand Prize (visit 17 shops) - prize valued at over $1,000

  • Runner-up Prize (visit 12 shops) - prize valued at over $750

  • Second Runner-up Prize (visit 8 shops) - prize valued at over 500

  • Third Runner-up Prize (visit 4 shops) - prize valued at over $250

If you are entered in the Grand Prize giveaway and do not win you will be entered automatically in the Runner-up giveaway (and if you don’t win that, the Second Runner-up giveaway and so on). Same goes for folks that visit 12 shops or 8 shops or 4 shops; if you don’t win your giveaway level you will automatically be entered in the next runner-up level. You do not need to submit your physical passport booklet at the end of the crawl (it’s yours to keep and remember the fun times you had yarn-crawling) just follow the instructions in the printed passport for digital submission.

All of the participating shops will have their own shop-specific giveaway valued at $150 that every crawl visitor can enter at the shop (no purchase necessary; just a passport)! Shops will also be giving out a FREE shop-specific pattern when you get your passport stamped for visiting; no purchase required. Some shops may have other giveaways, pop-ups, special yarns, and kits for this event. Please check shop-specific websites and social media for details about these special products and events.

FUNDRAISING

The 2026 Philly Yarn Crawl will donate 5% of our registration fees to the PA Fiber Shed . PA Fibershed is a Pennsylvania-based nonprofit working to rebuild a local, sustainable textile economy from farm to fabric. They connect farmers, mills, dyers, designers, and makers to reduce textile waste, support small producers, and promote climate-friendly, circular fashion. Donations help fund education, community programs, and infrastructure that keep our clothes and yarn closer to home and gentler on the planet.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Anyone! If you’re interested in learning more about the many wonderful, creative, and diverse local yarn shops and fiber craft community in Greater Philadelphia this is the event for you. We ask that folks participating in the crawl agree to contribute to a positive, safe, and inclusive event - this includes customers, shop owners/staff, and vendors - in the interest of upholding the collective wellbeing of the community. If you are a new local yarn shop in the Greater Philadelphia area please don’t hesitate to reach out about participating in the next crawl!
